Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, Faculty of Klaipeda

The students needed a versatile, black box-type hall for rehearsals and performances of educational theatre. The Academy has been equipped with such a room by Scenos Techninis Servisas (StS).

The stage and auditorium areas were equipped with 2 movable equipment support frames made up of Sixty82 aluminium trusses. One frame is lifted by 4 Verlinde Stagemaker chain hoists. A set of metal pipes is also installed around the perimeter of the hall to secure the equipment and scenery. The lifts can be operated by remote control for easy maintenance.

As the hall is used by students, StS’s designers provided an engineering calculation report with an explanatory note along with the structures, showing the maximum possible distributed loads. This calculation report has been prepared and submitted to the LMTA to ensure the safe use of the installed equipment mounting frames for educational purposes as well as for the safe conduct of events.

The hall lighting system consists of Chauvet Professional R1 Beam Wash hybrid multi-purpose floodlights, which can be used as flood or narrow beam (3.4° to 67.7°) floodlights.

The lighting system is controlled using a ChamSys MQ70 control panel.

Depending on the event scenario and ideas, the lighting, sound and video systems can be combined in various ways.

The theatre is equipped with  L-Acoustics sound system: two X12 loudspeakers mounted at the edges of the stage and two additional loudspeakers for the back of the auditorium or the last rows of the stands (mounted on a structure in the hall).

For control, a professional digital Allen & Heath SQ5 console with digital junction box.

The renovated LMTA theatre hall now offers excellent conditions for students studying directing or acting, as well as stage design or technical event services.
