Kazlų Rūda Cultural Centre
After renovation, the Kazlų Rūda Culture Center has become one of the town’s most beautiful buildings, welcoming both locals and visitors upon entering the city. The elegant, rust-colored facade symbolizes the town’s name.
The Kazlų Rūda Culture Center is a space for various cultural events and a home for local artists. The renovated premises host rehearsals for art groups, classes and clubs for children, and community events. But most importantly, it boasts a modernly equipped Main Hall.
The renovated Main Hall of the Kazlų Rūda Culture Center features a state-of-the-art stage machinery, sound and lighting equipment, and stage draperies. The hall’s technological equipment was designed and integrated by UAB “Scenos techninis servisas” (StS).
“When renovating the building, the old hall was demolished, so we could design the new one without limitations, considering only its intended size,” recalls Julius Gružinskas, Head of the StS Design Department. The technological solutions meet the hall’s size requirements, and the equipment meets the highest safety and quality standards. The hall has 379 seats and can accommodate various events, including performances, concerts, film screenings, conferences, official receptions, and community celebrations.
A professional sound system was designed based on sound simulations. The hall is equipped with a top-of-the-line French-made L-Acoustics sound system: A15 series acoustic solutions are used, as well as an additional sound system for rear rows (using the X8 sound system). Subwoofers KS21, due to the hall’s aesthetics, are installed in specially designed locations in the stage barrier. With these elements, sound reaches all seating areas evenly: the sound pressure level created by the sound system elements in the hall space is not less than 105 dB in the audience area.
The upper stage machinery consists of Winwood and Verlinde Stagemaker lifts with a combined lifting capacity of 6 tons. Both the automated systems for lighting bars and pipe grids, and the front curtain track, can be controlled remotely by the center’s technicians. The control system was specially designed and manufactured for this hall by StS specialists.
The Kazlų Rūda Culture Center had purchased lighting equipment that they intended to continue using, so StS designers created a lighting system from old and new fixtures – a solution that included the arrangement, connection, and supplementation of the existing equipment with modern CHAUVET Professional devices. The lighting system is controlled by a Chamsys lighting control console.
The hall’s adornment is a moss-colored front curtain that meets the criteria of durability, acoustics, and non-combustibility. All other stage draperies are black and form a so-called “black box” – this stage principle allows for flexible adaptation of the space to various event scenography. The rear wall of the stage can be transformed into a white screen for video projections.
The technological systems are flexible, with the possibility of expansion or transformation. This allows not only adapting the equipment to event scenarios but also constantly updating, supplementing, and expanding it.
“We are glad that culture is alive in Lithuanian cities and towns. Culture centers are being renovated one after another, and increasing attention is being paid to the equipment of cultural spaces. Indeed, it is technology that opens up opportunities to bring good, high-quality events to the regions,” says J. Gružinskas.
